Covering an encyclopaedic range of subjects, including history, biography, engineering and science, art, wildlife and social history, the book by David Hare features stories about the raid by the IRA on Fastnet Lighthouse, the heroic rescue of the Daunt Rock lightship and the construction of Ireland’s nuclear-powered lighthouse.
In its chapter on technology, the book features the Baily Lighthouse Optic (see right), exhibited at this museum.
